Hi, I’m Kari!

I’m an experience designer with 12 years in the digital creation space, partnering across industries including public art, outdoor recreation, cycling, and finance, I specialize in creating inclusive, empathetic experiences that help people accomplish their goals.

I use AI-assisted workflows to synthesize research faster, evaluate design options, and move from discovery to testable prototypes, while contributing directly to production UI in AEM and React. Accessibility (WCAG 2.2 AA) is a throughline in everything I build.

Currently, I’m designing digital experiences that promote financial literacy and accessibility for small business customers at U.S. Bank. I mentor early-career designers through U.S. Bank’s rotational design program, guiding them on design best practices, hands-on component work for our dotcom experience, and cross-functional exposure to risk, content, agile, and product partners. I also share broader design guidance as a mentor on ADPList.

Outside of work, I volunteer with the Taskar Center for Accessible Technology, using OpenStreetMap data and AI-assisted analysis to identify inaccessible sidewalk infrastructure across Seattle. I’m also an active cyclist and have volunteered with Bicycle Colorado and People for Bikes, along with trail maintenance work in Whitefish, MT and Boulder, CO, work that keeps me close to the outdoor communities I design for.
